My sophomore year, I got the opportunity to go to Ukraine for a week as a sort of diplomatic exchange with the Ukrainian Air Force. Four cadets and an officer from USAFA were able to attend. The officer we were with was actually an orthodox chaplain. From the left: me, Reid, Jason, Scott, and the chaplain. In this photograph we are standing in one of the main square in the center of Kiev. There is a monument to one of the historical heros of Ukraine who is carrying a mace, or "Ukrainian Symbol of Power."
